Jinja outfit Busoga United FC will search for an amendment to their past mistakes when they host a high profile opposition, KCCA FC, at the Kakindu Stadium on matchday three of the new season slated for this Wednesday, October 27.
Abbey Kikomeko’s side lost both league games in this fixture last season but have since commenced the new season on high following their impressive opening day derby victory against league debutants Gaddafi FC.
They will however require more than just good vibes against the ‘Kasasiro Boys’ who appear to not be taking any prisoners currently. Team captain Anthony Mayanja is not oblivious to this fact and has revealed their counter plan.
“We are very set for KCCA,” Mayanja affirmed as he added; “We have been training well, and working upon the betterment of ourselves.”
“It is our first game at home this season and we expect to win it for ourselves and most importantly for the fans that keep supporting us,” Mayanja added.
“We have put in more effort to rectify our mistakes from the past game, so I expect us to be sharper at goal and better at defending.” Mayanja reiterated.
The last time the two sides met in Jinja, Busoga United conceded four and scored none at home, in a game where Morley Byekwaso’s side were simply rampant and will aim to do the same come Wednesday afternoon.
The Lugogo side completed the sequence at the MTN Omondi Stadium with a 3-1 victory and just like that, a league double was completed. The fixture in reference was last season.
Even KCCA FC’s start to the new season is scary, they have dispatched both Wakiso Giants and Gaddafi FC in rather different fashions but with one identical occurrence. The ability to win games even when not playing well.
KCCA have collected six points from two games and currently sit second on the league table, only bettered by Vipers SC’s superior goal difference.
Kikomeko and his troops will therefore require a bit more aggression and desire in this fixture. They currently boast of amassing three points and two goals to mark their resurgence.
