Busoga United captain Anthony Mayanja has expressed his side’s readiness to gather positive results from newly-promoted StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) side Tooro United when the two teams face off at Buhinga stadium in Fort Portal on Friday, November 5.
Both sides are sitting below tenth on the 16-team table after playing three games each. Tooro occupy the 11th position with four points from a win, a draw, and a loss while Busoga only have three points from one win, as they lost the other two.
Picking all three points against Tooro on Friday to is the only way Busoga will climb over five places above to clinch sixth position.
“We are very ready for the game, we have been prepared well by our coaches and we expect to get all three points,” Mayanja revealed to Football256 in an exclusive interview.
“I think the weather and atmosphere in Western Uganda will not treat us so different as it is nearly the same in Jinja, except that the languages spoken there are a bit different.”
“Regardless, we are only specifically going there to play football – a language we understand quite well,” Mayanja added.
“With all due respect to Tooro United, we expect a win from them – we shall take the game to them and express that we are the better team,” the Busoga captain concluded.
To prepare well, the Busoga team consisting of 19 players will spend a day in Tooro – a period ample enough to help in the recovery of the fatigue from the long journey.
