KCCA FC tactician Morley Byekwaso has been named the best StarTimes Uganda Premier League coach for October.

Byekwaso had an incredible performance in charge of the Lugogo based side throughout last month and his recognition can never be contested.

Under his guidance, the Kasasiro Boys started the season on a high note, winning all their four games played in October in emphatic style.

The 13 time SUPL winners endured one of their worst seasons in the recent past the last term when they finished fourth of the 16 team log, but started this campaign with a 3-0 win over Wakiso Giants FC.

It was also the full beginning of the Byekwaso era in the SUPL, given that he had first taken over from his master Mike Mutebi on interim basis, when the latter was sacked in March 2021.

The win away to the Purple Sharks was followed by three back to back victories against Gaddafi FC, Busoga United and Tooro United, 2-1, 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.

KCCA’s perfect start of the season would later be brought to an end following their 1-1 draw with Soltilo Bright Stars but that was at the beginning of November.

Byekwaso beat Vipers gaffer Roberto Oliveira to the award who also had a brilliant start to life at Kitende winning two and drawing the other in October but that could not match the former’s four wins.

He becomes the first coach to win it this season, succeeding Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa who won it in May before the cancellation of the last campaign due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in Uganda.

Byekwaso who won had a 68% online voting walked away with a plaque and a cash price of Shs 1M.
