Former Uganda Cranes captain Dennis Onyango is a man on a mission to write history every chance he gets, the Mamelodi Sundowns skipper is not about to stop.

Onyango is now level with Moeneeb Josephs for the most clean sheets in the Premier Soccer League history, 119, six behind the leader, Kaizer Chiefs’ Itumeleng Khune who is on 125.

Onyango achieved the feat on Saturday, after his side’s barren draw with Cape Town City in the PSL, it was also his seventh clean sheet of the season and Sundowns’ 10th in ten outings.

Onyango has played a total of 238 PSL games since he made his debut in 2006, Josephs had played 260 before he retired, Khune is on 270 games.

Of the three Onyango has conceded the least goals, 168, Josephs is on 266 while Khune has let in 207.

On average Onyango concedes a goal every 125 minutes, Josephs lets in a goal every after 103 minutes while Khune concedes every after 125 minutes.

With eight league titles, Onyango is one of the most decorated players in PSL history, he has won five of those with Sundowns while three came while still at Supersport.

With his form Onyango is also chasing Josephs’ record of most clean sheets in a single season, the latter managed 17 clean sheets in 28 games, in the 2009-10 season a record that stands to date.

Last season Onyango kept 11 clean sheets in 25 PSL games, his best clean sheet count stands at 13, achieved from the 23 league matches he played in the 2006/07 season – his first in the PSL.
