Football256.com, has dominated the inaugural 2021 USPA Media Excellence Awards, with a whooping four nominations.
The website has been nominated in The Samuel Wossita Award for the Best Digital Sports Production Category with the grand winner to be declared on December 15.
The group recognizes the best performing websites, E-Journals and Podcasts and in this category along with Football256 is Kawowo Sports and Voice of Bugerere.
Three of Football256 writers have also received nominations in the coveted awards. Allan Damba, Shafik Kiyaga and Timothy Kuteesa, all of whom submitted their stories published on the site will vie for the Paul Waibale Snr Award.
It recognizes the best sports columns that were not only well written but also made an impact among the readership and the local sporting sect.
Damba’s column, will be up against Kiyaga’s and Kuteesa’s and the winner will walk home with a plaque and a one million cash prize.

In what has been an adventurous year for the website, the winner assures triumph for the entire team.
The nominations come as recognition for the tireless effort and impact football256 has made to the local soccer world, despite only being three years old.
The website team lead, Clive Kyazze has also received a nomination with Sanyu FM under the James Opoka Award which recognizes the best sports news report of the year.
Daily Monitor, under the Nation Media Group is the only other media company that has had as many nominations, with the likes of Andrew Mwanguhya, Denis Bbosa, Maktum Muziransa and George Katongole making the final list.
