In the 16th minute, the hosts nearly levelled matters through Grant Masiko’s freekick but Hassan Matovu parried it out for a corner kick.
Two minutes later, defender Edward Satulo restored parity for Wakiso Giants through a strong header from close range to open the contest even more.
In the 28th minute, Ivan Bogere placed the Purple Sharks in the driving seat after directing Simon Namwajja’ cross into the back of the net.
With ten minutes to end the first stanza, Bright Stars came from behind to level the game through Angu who nodded home Marvin Joseph’s cross.
On the return of the second half, Wakiso Giants looked the more hungry side in search of the edge against their neighbours.
Six minutes into the second stanza, Sharif Kimbowa’s effort forced Derrick Ngobi into an own goal for the home team to lead for the second time.
Later on, Alex Gitta made a double change as Pius Kaggwa and Frank Ssebuufu came on for Kibowa and Tom Masiko.
At an hour mark, second half substitute Kaggwa extended the host’s lead, making it 4-2 after an instinctive finish.
