Muhammad Shaban scored the first goal of the game as Onduparaka FC shared spoils with Express FC in a one-all draw at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium on Tuesday.

It was his second goal of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season, having also netted the opener in a 2-1 loss away to SC Villa on Friday last week.

Most notably though, Shaban was this time round scoring his first goal in front of the Onduparaka faithful at the Greenlight Stadium since his return at the start of the season.

Godfrey Lwesibawa on the other hand netted the equalizer for the visitors. He had not played yet this season until last weekend’s 1-0 win over Wakiso Giants FC, having nursed a long injury.

Shaban scored in the eighth minute of the game when Express goalkeeper Dennis Otim played the ball into his path following a shot from Emmanuel Oketch.

Midway through halftime, Lwesibawa volleyed in the ball into the bottom corner off Eric Kambale’s assist from a header for the Red Eagles’ leveller before halftime.

Despite the game opening more in the second half, there were limited scoring opportunities and Express substitute Enoch Ssebagala’s red was the only highlight of the stanza.

Both teams did not move a step on the 16-team log, Onduparaka remained 11th on nine points while Express also stayed put in sixth on 12 points.

Up next for the Caterpillars is Wakiso at home on Tuesday, December 7 whilst the Red Eagles will host Mbarara City on the same day.
