Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa praised his players’ show of character and guile as his side missed a number individuals through illness and injuries during their one-all draw against Onduparaka FC.

Defender Murushid Juuko, midfielders Abel Etrude and Nicholas Kasozi and forward Martin Kizza were notable absentees in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium on Tuesday.

“We came here to collect maximum points but we could only afford one and we shall take that,” Bbosa told the media before adding.

“We missed eight first team players but the boys I fielded did well and won us a point and I would like to commend them for the job well done.”

“There have been a few errors here and there but we shall sort them out and I am hopeful that the injured players will be available for our next game,” he added.

Forward Godfrey Lwesibawa who was starting for the first time this season after returning from a long injury over the weekend, scored for the Red Eagles to cancel out Muhammad Shaban’s goal.

However, the defending champions did not move any step as far as the 16 team SUPL log is concerned, they remained sixth but on 12 points.

The seven time SUPL champions will return to action Tuesday, December 7 with a home tie against Mbarara City FC.
