Masaza Cup 2021: ‘Belief and confidence will see Busujju through – Kaweesi

By Football256 Team

Following his side’s sorrowful 5-1 defeat to Buwekula in their first game at the ongoing Masaza Cup, Busujju striker Ivan Richard Kaweesi believes they can only get to winning ways if they start to believe and gain more confidence ahead of the next fixtures.

Kaweesi said the above during an exclusive interview with Football256 after the game on Wednesday.

“We had a poor start and that is not the result we wanted,” he said before adding; “We still have three games to play and I believe we can utilize them.”

Kaweesi scored the only goal for Busujju to create hope for a turnaround as they were already down to three goals but later on, Buwekula got two more goals.

“We came in the game yearning for three points but got none but we move away with several lessons to guide us in the next game and that will be our chance to bounce back.”

“I was happy to score my goal but it was not enough to help my team and that leaves me sad because I am supposed to help the team win.”

“We have talked as a team and the coach captured most of the errors that were done in the game, we shall be working on them so that they hardly cost us again.”

“I call upon the fans to keep calm and composed because we shall give them joy in the next fixture,” he concluded.

Busujju lie bottom on the log of five teams with no point and a negative four-goal difference after one game played.

They return to action in a Saturday afternoon encounter against last year’s finalists Buddu at Njeru.
