Wakiso Giants FC will move up to second on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log if they topple Onduparaka FC at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium on Tuesday, December 7.
The Purple Sharks who are currently fourth with 15 points will displace Vipers SC from the second position with three points tomorrow.
They are however winless in all of their last visits to tomorrow’s grounds in their short history in the top tier.
Alex Gitta’s side has lost and drawn one apiece in their previous outings at the Greenlight Stadium. Last season there, it ended 1-1 with Living Kabon on the score sheet for the hosts as was Hassan Wasswa for the Giants.
After a tough start to the season where they lost twice in succession, tomorrow’s guests have drastically improved and have won five of the previous six fixtures including an impressive 4-2 win over Soltilo Bright Stars last time out.
The Caterpillars on the other hand, have won just twice in eight matches this campaign. They have lost and drawn thrice apiece, leaving them tenth with nine points.
In their previous outing, they managed a one-all stalemate against Express FC with Shaban Muhammad netting his second goal in as many matches.
The talisman who is also their skipper will yet again be required to offer any hope for goals with the team struggling in that department. They have only managed five goals, a clear show of a blunt attack.
They will however be without the services of Rashid Okocha who continues to serve a FUFA ban over unsportsman-like behavior exhibited in the 2-1 loss against SC Villa two weeks back.
Meanwhile, Wakiso are racing against time to have star player Titus Sematimba fit for the tie. The attacker who has garnered four goals so far, missed the game against Bright Stars.
