Wakiso Giants will host an on form BUL FC in a bid to get back to winning ways in what promises mouthwatering action in the 2021/22 Startimes Uganda Premier League, at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso on January 4.
In their last outing with URA, Wakiso registered a one all stalemate with their only goal coming from left back Simon Namwanja with Cromwell Rwothomio pulling a goal for the hosts.
Wakiso Giants currently sit in sixth position of the 16 team log with 21points collected from 13 league games.
“We expect a tough game against a very good team on form,” said Coach Alex Gitta to the club media.
“We missed a number of players in our last two games, especially in the attacking areas and we hope their return gives us an edge,” he added.
“To achieve our target of the first round, we must win and we will do all possible to get maximum points, especially playing in front of our home fans.”
On the other hand, Alex Isabirye’s BUL is in good form too, having thumped Arua Hills SC 4-O in their last meeting at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe on matchday 13.
Musa Esenu bagged a brace, Ibrahim Nsimbe and Ibrahim Kazindula both earned their names on the scoresheet.
The pair of Esenu and Nsimbe have managed to slice defences with the former being the top scorer with nine goals in the topflight and the latter earning his name on the scoreboard with five goals they should be key in the game.
The ‘Eastern Giants’ currently sit third on the 16 team log with 25points collected from 13 league matches played so far.
In their last meetings, Wakiso Giants have won twice, drawn once and lost once to BUL FC. Wakiso Giants could have Ivan Bogere, Frank Ssebuufu and Sharif Kimbowa back for the tie. Hassan Wasswa also got an injury in their game against URA.
The game has come too soon for Ambrose Kirya and Hamis Tibita who are still in the treatment room.
