Kosa League: Solida and Sasi tied at summit

The Kibuli Students Association (KOSA) league returned from the Christmas break with round three fixtures on Sunday, January 2.

After Sunday’s games, it is Solida FC and Sasi FC that are level on points on top of the eight team log.

The two teams who are also the only unbeaten teams left are both on seven points having drawn 2-2 in their meeting on Sunday, January 2 at Panamera Grounds where all the games get hosted.

Isaac Owori netted a brace for Sasi whereas Yusuf Kubwa and Ishaq Mukalazi were on target for Solida in an end to end entertaining encounter.

Following the above result, it is Solida who have a better goal difference of six that sit at the apex while Sasi occupies second with plus two goals.

It rained goals on the day with the game between Sasi and Solida, the only one that produced less than 10 goals.

Undisputed 14 FC washed away Tsunami FC 9-3, the highest scoreline on Sunday. Yusuf Izama was on a hat trick, Kassim Lubowa managed a brace.

And there was also a goal for each of Isaac Nuwe, Bashir Luyinda, Adam Ssebugwawo and Akram Mukisa for the Undisputed.

Whilst Fahd Kasirye, Muhammad Wasswa and Faisal Bukenya scored the three goals for Tsunami.

The Undisputed are positioned third on six points, one adrift of leaders Solida and Sadi who are equal on seven while Tsunami who have won only once are sixth on three points.

Showtymers 06 FC were edged by 4Z Tazz 09 FC 6-5 in an 11 goal thriller. There was a hat trick for the former’s Steven Bakamata, Ayub Mugasha and Kassim Kasawuli also scored.

A brace for Sadiq Kizza and the other four goals from Allan Owiny, Tanga Obbo, Baker Ssekyanzi, Muhammad Kalyango won it for Tazz.

It was Tazz’s first win and it only took them above KMSA Ngoma 08 FC in seventh place on three points whereas Showtymers remained fifth on three points as well but with a better goal difference.

In the other game played, nothing could separate Ngoma and Lannisters FC after a five all draw. Najib Juuko (hat trick), Hassan Wasswa and Edison Atwine were the scorers for the latter.

The former netted theirs through Siraje Mutebi who scored a hat trick, Fahd Bbosa and Suleiman Muktah.

Ngoma are the only team yet to win a game at the competition and are rock bottom on a single point whilst Lannisters is fourth on four points.

Owori of Sasi leads the scorers’ charts on seven goals and will be looking forward to bagging more when action resumes on Sunday, January 9.
