Reports emerging from Cameroon indicate that Janny Sikazwe will not continue officiating at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

For his mistakes of concluding the game between Tunisia and Mali at Limbe on Wednesday, twice before it was actually done, the Zambian has returned home.

Sikazwe blew the full-time whistle in the 85th minute but was advised that there was still more time, he however once again signalled for the game to end at the 89th minute mark.

According to information provided by CAF officials in the aftermath of the game, the referee suffered from heatstroke which resulted in the controversy.

He was rushed to the hospital as CAF ruled that the two teams should return on the pitch and play the final five minutes.

However, Tunisia did not obey and went ahead to lodge an appeal for the game to be replayed.

But, on Friday morning, their appeal was dismissed with the result of the game (1-0) in favour of Mali in Group F standing, thanks to Ibrahima Kone’s 48th minute goal from a penalty.
