Vipers SC have clinched their fifth StarTimes Uganda Premier League trophy after beating Express FC 3-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday.

Yunus Ssentamu helped himself to a first half brace while Bright Anukani got the third for the five time champions in the second stanza.

The Venoms emerged champions after garnering 64 points, albeit, with four games to the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

The point tally implies they have 14 more points than runners-up KCCA FC, who are on 50.

In lifting the fifth gong, the Kitende outfit added to the ones won in 2010/11, 2015/16, 2017/18, and 2019/20.

It is also the second trophy that Vipers have won under head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho, having been in the job less than a year.

His first was the 2021 Uganda Cup that they won, having beaten BUL FC 8-1 at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Meanwhile, the evening’s result left Express sixth with 42 points having played 27 matches.
