After securing Vipers SC’s fifth StarTimes Uganda Premier League title, head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho has once again asserted his desire to win the club’s first-ever domestic double.
The Venoms booked themselves a Uganda Cup semi-final berth with Mbarara City FC and, it’s safer to say, the tactician’s targets are pointed in the right direction.
If the Brazilian wins it as well, it would be his second Cup in less than a year since taking over reigns at Kitende. It would total to three trophies in all competitions.
“It’s not easy winning every competition (but we shall give it a good shot),” said the gaffer to the club media, ahead of their league game against SC Villa on Saturday.
“Vipers was the Uganda Cup champion last year, and, we are now the winners of the league championship.”
“The objective is to win the Uganda Cup again -” optimistic as always, the coach added.
About the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru game, Robertinho made it clear the team will be set for the challenge against a rather familiar foe.
“We must prepare well for all our matches, and, I will have the best possible team for tomorrow.”
At the top of the 16 team log, the Kitende side has garnered 67 points in 27 matches and the target is to be the first side to hit the 70-point mark in 13 years.
Meanwhile, the Jogoo lies 12th with 29 points, just four above relegation, and the goal will be to secure survival.
