Vipers SC star forward Yunus Sentamu has missed a Uganda Cranes call-up as head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, on Sunday named the provisional squad that will play the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.

Sentamu has had a brilliant 2021/22 season that had him notch 14 goals in his side’s lead to a fifth Uganda Premier League trophy, the third-best scorer behind Muhammad Shaban (15), and Cesar Manzoki (18).

The forward also added six goals in the Uganda Cup, helping Vipers to a second successive final, that they will play against BUL FC on June 12 in Masindi.

Among the unexpected inclusions is goalkeeper Giousue Bellagambi who plies his trade at the English side, Huddersfield. The custodian will be keen on getting his maiden national team cap.

The Cranes will face Algeria on June 4 in Algiers before hosting Niger at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende four days later.

The local football governing body, FUFA has confirmed the team will enter camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi on Monday.
