Freshly unveiled Gaddafi Modern FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has vowed to build a side that will compete, challenge and win trophies for the 2022/23 season and beyond.
The former Express FC head coach promised paradise after signing a two-year employment contract at the army side on Thursday.
“It is a great honor to be appointed head coach at Gaddafi Modern FC and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead,” Bbosa said to the media.
“I know the fans expect their club to win and the team’s target is to win the league so, I will work towards hitting that target,” he added.
Much as the targets sound a little alarming given Gaddafi will be playing only their second year in the top-flight, Bbosa knows a thing or two about winning, as he is a 2020/21 Uganda Premier League winner, with Express.
In their maiden campaign, they finished eighth with 37 points, twice lesser than table leaders Vipers SC, who accumulated 74.
The motormouthed tactician will be assisted by Uganda Senior Women’s team head coach George Lutalo, who is away for the side’s preparations for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Bbosa will also have Hassan Zungu and Sam Kawalya as the second assistant and goalkeepers’ coach respectively. Ayub Balyejusa will be the physical fitness coach.
Besides the league, Bbosa also won the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup, Express’ first in history. He was sacked after internal disputes with the CEO, Isaac Mwesigwa.
