Upon being unveiled as Express FC Head Coach on a permanent basis, James Odoch has vowed to lay most of his focus on building youngsters with hunger for future success.
The former Red Eagles’ player finished the 2021/22 campaign in the role on interim, after the sacking of Wasswa Bbosa, but has now penned a one-year full-time contract.
“My major focus is going to be in building a team of young players who will play for the Red Eagles for a long time, at least three years with hunger, ambition, commitment and passion to archive big things,” Odoch told the club media.
With him as deputy to Wasswa Bossa, the ‘Mukwano Gwabangi’ won the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup in the 2020/21 season, Odoch wants to replicate that campaign’s brilliance.
Odoch also know the identity of the club and he wants to instill it.
“I was a player with Express FC and also served as assistant manager in the 2020/2021 season when we won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup championship. I know what Express is and how it should play.”
According to the Club, the freshly unveiled gaffer is expected to announce his technical team in the coming days, to kickstart the rebuilding process at Wankulukuku.
Odoch played for the club for four seasons between 1997 to 1999 and 2001 to 2002, representing the club in both local and continental competitions.
