Ahead of the African Nations Championships (CHAN), Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich has confirmed the team that has traveled to Tunisia for a training camp, before connecting to Algeria for the finals.
However, it was shocking as the 25-man squad didn’t include Wakiso Giants FC star forward Ibrahim Kasule ‘Baba’.
The young goal-scorer-cum playmaker has been in scintillating form in the first round of the Uganda Premier League for his side, netting and assisting five goals apiece, with Nelson Senkatuka (11) the only player with more goal contributions.
His all-round game has been his biggest weapon, with the natural ability to beat players and bring others into play, making him arguably the most potent player in the league, at the moment.
Micho also left out goalkeepers Mathias Muwanga, Emmanuel Kalyowa, and Abdu Magada opting for the young Jack Komakech, who is yet to make a single matchday squad at Vipers SC this season, so far.
The other players left out include URA FC’s Saidi Kyeyune and KCCA FC winger Muhammed Ssenoga Kagawa.
While in camp in Tunisia, the team will have four friendly matches against Cameroon, Mali, Sudan, and Switzerland outfit Lausanne FC.
Uganda is in Group B alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, and Ivory Coast.
