After ending his marriage with Vipers SC, Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho is closing in on a move to Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC, Football256 understands.
According to hugely reliable sources in Tanzania, the tactician is moments away from penning down a two-year contract with the moneybags, with an official announcement expected in the next 48 hours.
For more perspective, it’s highly expected Robertinho will link with the rest of the Simba team in Zanzibar on Monday, where they are bound to participate in the Mapinduzi Cup.
Simba currently has Juma Magunda as their head coach but the latter is expected to pave way for Robertinho’s arrival, having failed to beat arch-rivals Young Africans SC’s dominance.
The latter top proceedings in the Tanzania Premier League with 49 points, six ahead of runners-up Simba, with 19 games played.
Robertinho left the Venoms less than a week ago, in what was a shocking development, to end his 14-month stay at Kitende.
With the latter, he won the 2020/21 Uganda Cup and the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League title, in a successful short spell.
He also guided Vipers to the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time in history, cementing his greatness further in the Club’s books.
Interestingly about the developments, the Kitende side and Simba are in the same Champions League group (C), with the two sides expected to meet on February 24-25th and on March 07th, 2023.
