Twenty nine year old Cameroonian “flying winger”, Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene has signed a new 1 year contract this week to keep her on the books of CSKA Moscow until December 2019.
The former Rosiyenka forward featured in 10 of 14 league games last season for CSKA and scored 5 goals and 5 assists for the club.
Speaking to this reporter on Tuesday, Aboudi Onguene:”I am very happy to have extended my contract with CSKA. I took this option because I wanted to have continuity.It helps me to prepare well for the World Cup and I hope we will have very good results this new season”
Last season,CSKA won just 7 of 14 league games to finish on the 4th spot in the 8 clubs Russia Women’s League.
She is one of two Cameroonians still in the race for the African Women’s footballer of the year award.She has scored 10 goals and made 11 assists for Club and country.She is one of “bright lights”of the Cameroon team to be in France for the world cup in June.
