Zimbabwean midfielder Khama Billiat plays for one of Africa’s celebrated football clubs, Kaizer Chiefs but he doesn’t want to stop there, he still has an unfulfilled dream of playing in European clubs.

The 28-year-old Zimbabwean is eager to use the forthcoming 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt to attract suitors who might be interested in his services.

“I think it is a very important tournament for every African to see how far you are as an individual. You get to compare yourself to other players from West Africa and so forth,” Billiat was quoted by SABC Sport.

“It is a good platform for players to go to Europe to get new clubs and even get better contracts. Yes, it is important for all of us. We all play football in order to secure moves to Europe,” he added.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns impressed in his maiden season at Chiefs, the side he joined in June 2018 form Masandawa, scoring 14 goals across all competitions for Amakhosi.

Billiat had earlier attracted attentions of European club after exciting performances during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations but it was reported that his club at that time in Mamelodi Sundowns, rejected offers from Europe.

“If you are good enough then it (the chance) will come. But this is everything for us. We really have to show the best of our abilities,” he noted.

According to sources from South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs is ready to let go of Billiat after the Nations Cup, should any offer from Europe is tabled.

Billiat and Zimbabwe have a date with the Uganda Cranes on June 26th, in their second game of Group A, they play Egypt on June 21st in the opening game of the competition.
