Just like there is some responsible for success, there is also someone always responsible for a team’s failure to pick expected results.

And after Zimbabwe’s dismal show at the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations, head coach Sunday Chidzambwa has accepted the blame.

“I take the blame and maybe in the near future, we need a different approach. The players we picked must deliver, so we take the blame,” he told Zimeye.

“If you look at our game, we were very slow. So, there was that element and we were chasing the game and couldn’t come back.”

Zimbabwe lost the opening game of tournament to host Egypt 1-0 before DR Congo sent them parking with a 4-0 humbling, they had drawn 1-1 with Uganda.

Their poor show didn’t see them get into contention for the four third based teams that would qualify for the round 16 as they finished bottom of Group A.
