Uganda Cranes won’t have defender Murushid Juuko available for selection for the second straight game at the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations when Uganda faces Egypt on Sunday in their last group game.
According to head coach Sebastian Desabre, Juuko is treating a hamstring injury for at least ten days.
“Juuko has a hamstring injury, did the scan and we were told he must rest for ten days so we won’t have him tomorrow,” Desabre told journalists in the Prematch press conference on Saturday morning.

Ronald Mukiibi replaced Juuko in the one all draw against Zimbabwe and is likely to get the nod again ahead of the tie against Egypt, the other option available is KCCA FC’s Timothy Awany.
Desabre believes his players are well motivated going into the tie, they need to collect at least a point to seal a Round of 16 tie.

“I am very confident about my players tomorrow (Sunday) they will be very motivated to play against Egypt,” he added.
Uganda has not qualified for the knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations since 1978 when they lost 2-0 to Ghana in the final.
