If there was a store one would walk in and purchase confidence that world and sports, in particular, would be an untouchable sector.
Unfortunately, such a place doesn’t exist, reason Cranes coach Sebastian Desabre is hoping that his players will have the confidence to execute what he instilled them at the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations.
“I have asked my boys to have confidence,” Desabre said on Tuesday moments after he had just revealed the final 23 to represent the country in Egypt.
“To have confidence in defending and going forward because we have to enjoy games, not just to go there and play.”
“The boys need to enjoy some amazing moments on the pitch, to do something to provoke the luck because we have the quality,” he noted.
Uganda will play their warm up game against Ivory Coast on June 15 after the barren draw against Turkmenistan on June 9th.
“The game (Turkmenistan) helped me analyse players mentally and technically. Now it’s another step because I give the final list (squad) that will play the last friendly against Ivory Coast.”
“After that we go to Egypt and fight in three games with our target to get out of the group stage. But all that and the expectations back home do not have to drain the life out of the players,” Desabre revealed.
Uganda are pooled in Group A alongside Egypt, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo, they open their campaign on June 22nd against the latter.
