With only days to the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Uganda Cranes are looking forward to a pleasant tournament.
In a bid to achieve the above, Uganda Cranes have had an absolute preparation ahead of the continent’s top show.
Uganda Cranes will lock horns with Africa’s giants Ivory Coast on Saturday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in their last building up game.
“A friendly game against Ivory Coast is a perfect one for us because they’re one of the greatest teams in Africa, therefore, a result against them gives us a perfect start,” midfielder Allan Kateregga told www.fufa.co.ug.
“The collectiveness we’ve had as a team here in Abu Dhabi will do us well ahead of the Ivory Coast game because it’s a high ranking fixture and therefore a start to our tournament,” added the player who will be appearing at his first Nations Cup.
The Uganda Cranes has spent over two weeks in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates where they are expected to spend three weeks before heading to North Africa.
In a build-up perspective Uganda Cranes have already played out to 0-0 against Turkmenistan with one game to go as per warm ups.
The Cranes are expected to fly to Egypt after today’s game and will start their AFCON campaign against Zimbabwe on Saturday, June 22nd.
