AFCON 2019: Nigeria and Zimbabwe arrive in Egypt on the same plane

With just 11 days to the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations, different teams have started arriving in Egypt with Nigeria and Zimbabwe touching down ahead of the continent’s most prestigious football tournament which starts on June 21.

After the two teams playing to a goalless draw at the Steven Keshi Stadium on Saturday in an international friendly, the Super Eagles and the Warriors departed Asaba, Nigeria on Sunday evening on a chartered flight together.

The Super Eagles who are in Group B alongside Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea are scheduled to play against Senegal in their last warm up fixture at the Ismailia Stadium on June 16.

Zimbabwe will face Egypt in Group A in the opening match of the tournament on June 21st, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda complete Group A.

According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) all the 24 countries that will participate in AFCON 2019 are required to submit their final 23-man squads not later than today June 10.
