As they are preparing for their 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations semifinal encounter, Nigeria have received a boost of a whopping $75,000 for every goal scored.
This came from Africa’s billionaires Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola who have promised to give the Super Eagles $50,000 and $25,000 respectively each time they find the back of the net against Algeria.
The Gernot Rohr coached side will lock horns with the Desert Warriors of Algeria on Sunday, July 14th at the Cairo International Stadium.
Dangote and Otedola have joined a growing list of Nigerians that are sprinkling different gifts at the Super Eagles for their impressive performances at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Following their Round of last 16 3-2 win over the defending champions Cameroon, each player received $5,000 from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwolu while Captain Hosea Okunbor gave each player $20,000.
The three-time Nations Cup champions have been in dazzling form at this year’s edition, they defeated South Africa 2-1 in the quarterfinals to get to this stage.
The Super Eagles are targeting Nations Cup glory for the first time since 2013 after missing out on the previous two editions of 2015 in Equatorial Guinea and 2017 in Gabon.
