The Uganda national men’s U-20 team made the last four of the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations at the ongoing tournament in Sudan.
The Hippos, who have three points following their opening day victory against Tanzania, top proceedings in the three-team Group B, and their work has been made light.
This was confirmed after Tanzania’s two-all draw with Ethiopia on Wednesday at the Al Hilal Stadium.
The latter result implies Tanzania, who completed their group games, now have one point, same as Ethiopia who still have a game left against Uganda, slated for Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tanzania’s slim hopes of making the semi-finals lie with Uganda beating Ethiopia by a difference of over two goals.
Uganda is now in line to face one of Sudan, South Sudan or Burundi after the end of Group A matches.
Each of the teams that will reach the final will represent the CECAFA region at the 2023 U-20 AFCON in Egypt.
