Guinean footballer Aly Soumah died on his way back home after he involved in a road accident.
Soumah had traveled with the rest of the Guinea team to Tanzania for the ongoing Total U17 Africa Nations Cup.
He also participated in Guinea’s preparatory games, as they camped in Morocco’s city of Jadida.
According to www.kick442.com Guinea’s head coach was not impressed by Soumar’s services, he therefore left him out of the Guinea’s final 21 man squad.
The coach’s decision meant that Soumar could not longer participate in the tournament. He was therefore sent back home before Guinéa’s first game on Monday against Cameroon, they lost 2-0.
However, on his way in Guinea, Soumar was involved in a severe road accident at the Kindia road in Guinea, he died few hours later.
Guinea’s chances of progressing to the semifinals of the tournament are at stake after losing their opening game.
It means that they have to win both of their remaining games if they are to stand any chance of semifinal qualification.
They will play fellow West Africans Senegal and North Africans in Morocco, they need six points from these games.
