Despite finishing third in group B of the 2019 Total Africa U17 Cup of Nations, Senegal head coach Omar Daff claims that his side should be the one in the semifinals of the competition and not Guinea.
Senegal failed to win any of their three games in the tournament, registering two draws and one defeat in the process but Daff remains hopeful waits the right decision from CAF.
Senegal have already written an official protest to CAF about Guinea’s players Aboubakar Conte and Ahmed Tidiane Keita, reportedly with evidence that the above-mentioned players have represented Guinea at a different tournament with a different identity.
According to their protest, the duo previously took part in an U16 tournament organized by the Japan Football Federation from in June 2017 in Japan with the different birth dates.
“It’s clear, everybody can see, the laws are in place and should be used by the authorities in charge,” Daff said in the post-match press conference.
“Cases of doubled identity are punishable so let the authorities make a decision for the image of African football,” he added.

According to the statement, Ahmed Tidiane Keita was born on December 31, 2001 while Aboubacar Conté was born on November 13, 2001.
Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has also referred the governing body of African football to the website of the tournament in question.
They have also indicated that, in order to be eligible for the final tournament of the AFCON finals in Tanzania, the two players cut their age by one year with the establishment of new passports different from those used during the Japan tournament in 2017.
The Guinea FA have however denied any wrongdoings through the communication sent to the Secretary General of CAF within the last 48 hours.
