The Cubs might be out of the 2019 U17 Total Africa Nations Cup and missed out on the opportunity of playing in the 2019 U17 FFIA World Cup but it may not be yet over for the Uganda Cubs boys.
According to the news reaching www.football-256.com desk, Cubs’ midfielder Davis Ssekajja might be close to joining one of the Swedish academies as the Scandinavian country based football agents already showed interest in the youngster.
“Our scout spotted him during the invitational tournament in Turkey and now during this tournament in Tanzania,” Abdifatah Mohamed an agent and Founder/CEO of Atoto Sports Management based in Stockholm, Sweden told www.afconu17tanzania.com.
Mohamed also acknowledged the Ugandan ace for being with the qualities they are looking for and also being with good height which can play competitive football in Europe.
“These are the kind of players we want to take to Sweden and develop them through the systems,” he noted.
Mohamed and another football scout in Jose Solomon on Tuesday spoke to the players and Uganda Cubs manager Bashir Mutyaba at Peacock Hotel before the team traveled back to Uganda.
The Atoto Sports Management agent promised to make a follow up on the player in Uganda although he is already out of Tanzania.
“We are interested in helping these young players so that we help develop them for bigger moves,” he added.
The other players who impressed the different scouts and agents at the tournament with different skills includes Kelvin John (Tanzania), Mohamed Lamine Soumah (Guinea), Mouhamadou Diaw (Senegal) and Jose Ngunza Cabingano (Angola) among others.
The tournament is set to run up to Sunday, April 28th when the winners will be determined, Angola, Cameroon, Nigeria and Guinea are still fighting for the crown. They are already qualified for the 2019 U17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
