Uganda U17 have been drawn with Morocco, Ivory Coast and Zambia at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations U17 tournament.
This will be Uganda’s second appearance at the AFCON U17 finals after making their maiden appearance during the 2019 tournament held in Tanzania where they were eliminated from the group stages.
Morocco the hosts of the tournament will be making their fourth appearance at the tournament finals.
Ivory Coast will be the favourites to progress from the group as they will be making their seventh appearance and won the tournament in 2013.
Zambia on the other hand are making their third appearance but are yet to progress past the group stages.
Defending champions Cameroon are drawn in Group C alongside two-time winners Mali, 2015 runners up South Africa and Senegal.
Tanzania the other representatives from the CECAFA region have been placed in group B together with two-time winners Nigeria, Algeria and tournament debutants Congo.
The 19 edition of the tournament will feature 12 teams for the first time in history.
The 2021 edition will consist of three groups of four teams with the winners, runners up and two of the best third-placed teams reaching the quarter-finals.
GROUP A: Morocco, Uganda, Zambia, Ivory Coast
GROUP B: Nigeria, Tanzania, Algeria, Congo
GROUP C: Cameroon, Senegal, Mali, South Africa
