Harambee Stars’ defender Joash Onyango will miss the 2019 Total African Cup of Nations Group C match on Thursday after failing to shake off an ankle injury he picked in training.
The Gor Mahia central defender missed Kenya’s match against Algeria with the ankle problem but coach Migne had earlier exuded confidence that he would return against Taifa Stars.

It has now emerged that the former Western Stima man has not managed to recover in time for the East African Derby.
Migne however is hopeful that he will be available for the final group assignment against Senegal.

“Joash is not ready yet for Tanzania but hopefully we will have him in our final Group match,” Migne told the Federation website.
Musa Mohamed and Joseph Okumu are likely to pair up again at the heart of Kenya defense.
David Owino, the most experienced defender in the group will most likely start from the bench.
