Ugandan goalkeeper Vanessa Karungi is off to a good start with her new team in Denmark, and she is optimistic that it will help her settle in well.
Karungi kept a clean sheet as her team BoldklubbenAf1893, also known as B.93, emerged 8-0 winners over Lynge-Broby IF in the Denmark Women League Cup.
Karungi started in goal for B.93 on Wednesday despite being a newcomer on the team, and early signs indicate she will cement the number one position on the team within no time.
In a new environment, with different cultures and so many new things altogether, Karungi maintains ‘all is well’.
“Of course, the environment has to change, sometimes for the better, and it is upon myself to adapt to it as the best option,” Karungi told Football256.
“There are challenges everywhere, but you just need to put your head up high every time. A positive mind is all one needs daily,” she added.
“I have been training well with the team, and I can say I am having a good time on the pitch. Though I am still striving to strike more coordination with other players on my side,” the goalkeeper noted.
The ex She Corporate FC goalkeeper and skipper was only confirmed last week as a B. 93 player, despite training with the team for the past weeks. She signed a two-year deal with the Danish second-tier side.
