With the start to the 2021/2022 season around the corner, youngster Bright Anukani’s future is yet to be decided. However, his representatives are weighing up a number options to see which one suits him better.
Reliable sources close to the player indicate that different clubs in Egypt are interested in the services of the Uganda Cranes midfielder.
“Quite a number of clubs from Egypt have contacted us and discussions are going on to see a way forward,” Suula Kamoga, the player’s representative told Football256.
When quizzed about who these Egyptian teams could be, Kamoga was reluctant to give them a mention.
He also hinted on the 21-year old’s possible move to Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants FC.
Kamoga who is also the Wakiso Giants Chief Executive Officer (CEO) should be the man in the center of the Anukani to Wakiso deal and this could be the most likely.
Anukani spent the whole of the 2020/2021 season on loan at KCCA FC but failed to match his expectations and those of the club despite having huge potential.
The 21-year old had been tipped to try and fill the void left by Allan Okello at KCCA but it was a tall ask.
He struggled with injuries before his admirer, former head coach Mike Mutebi was sacked.
After the CECAFA Kagame Cup, Anukani returned to his parent club , Proline in the Big League where he has a year left on his contract.
A player of his sature playing in the Big League seems unlikely and his representatives are working around the clock to find him a new club either in the UPL or abroad.
