KCCA FC unveiled online betting company 22Bet as the club’s official awards partner for one year, with an option for an additional 12 months.

The development which was made public knowledge on Thursday at Route256 Restaurant was fully welcomed by the club’s deputy skipper Julius Poloto.

“This partnership will motivate us more as players because at the end of the day there is something to be proud of after being chosen as winners,” he spoke to the media at the launch.

The company will reward the Man of the Match for every victory with UGX100,000 for both the League and the Uganda Cup. They will also give UGX200,000 for the Player of the Month.

“We have carefully chosen an all-inclusive committee that will vote for the best four players from the games we have won,” said KCCA CEO Anisha Muhoozi on the nomination criteria for the winners.

“A day’s poll will then be created on the club’s digital platforms shortly after the game and fans will be able to vote for their Man of the match,” she noted before adding.

“Upon completion of the duration of the poll, the 22BET Man of the Match shall then be announced and awarded by 22Bet.

The game is marred with incidents and allegations of match-fixing, and with the company joining football directly, there will be a bit of concern.

However, 22Bet Director Cedric Babu has assured they will stay professional and will work within the book.

“It is important that the general public understand that betting has to be done within the ethical rules,” he stated to the media.

“We as 22Bet will continue investing in sport and we are happy that we are partnering with KCCA to help motivate players by rewarding them for their performance on the pitch.”

All the aforementioned comes at the time after the Kasasiro Boys ditched their shirt sponsor See TV just one year into their three-year contract.

Currently, without a partner on their kit, Muhoozi assured it won’t be too long before they announce a new sponsor.

“Our partnership with See TV is over by mutual consent and it will not be too long before we unveil another sponsor.”

KCCA have had an indifferent start to the current Uganda Premier League season, winning and losing one apiece.

They beat Wakiso Giants FC 3-2 in the season’s opened but lost 3-1 to Arua Hill SC at the Barifa Stadium last Saturday.
