AWCON: Lutalo optimistic summoned team will not disappoint

Uganda Crested Cranes head coach George Lutalo has expressed optimism that the 47-player provisional squad named will deliver goodies at the forthcoming Women Africa Cup of Nations.

At FUFA House in Mengo on Wednesday, Lutalo named the team that will also feature in the CECAFA championships slated for Uganda between May 22- and June 05.

“As the technical team, we have made efforts to look at the players at their respective clubs and we are hopeful that the team summoned will be able to deliver,” he was quoted by the FUFA website.

“It is a good chance for us to gauge ourselves and have good preparations for the final tournament. We know this region has very competitive teams that will give us the best challenge.”

The team will enter the residential camp on Saturday, May 7, before embarking on preparations for the huge missions.

For the coveted continental Cup, Uganda was placed in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, and West African giants Burkina Faso and Senegal.
