Newly appointed Simba Queen’s SC head coach Charles Ayiekoh has described his new club as an organized team he could not resist.

The former She Corporate head coach joins the CECAFA women champions and his appointment was confirmed by the Tanzanian outfit on Monday.

“It is a great opportunity to manage an organized club like Simba Queens,” Ayiekoh told Football256 in an interview.

“In Uganda, the value was going down a bit, and I think it was the right time to go where one is valued.”

“It is a big opportunity that if handled well with good performances, can even bring a better job.”

Ayiekoh impressed the top officials at Simba when he guided She Corporate to the final of the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers in the CECAFA zone in Tanzania.

She Corporate and Simba meet twice at the competition in the group stages and the final with the latter winning 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.

“I want to thank everyone at She Corporate for allowing me to work with them and I think this is the benefit of how we played in the Champions League qualifiers,” Ayiekoh noted.

Under the guidance of Ayiekoh, the FUFA Women Super League champions became the first Ugandan team to reach the final of the tournament.

Ayiekoh was also the head coach of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in the Pepsi University Football League winning two titles with the side.

This season he had guided MUBS to seven wins in seven games and was on the brink of reaching the semifinals.

“I will miss my boys and girls at MUBS and Corporate but I am now committed to my new job and I am ready to serve.”

“I also believe my moving to Simba should opens doors for other upcoming coaches to take over the vacancies that I have left behind and exercise their capabilities,” Ayiekoh stated.

Ayiekoh is also a former coach at Vipers SC (Bunnamwaya), Tooro United (Soana), Busoga United FC, Maroons FC, Police FC, MYDA FC, Nyamityobora FC, and others.

After edging She Corporate in the final of the Regional Qualifiers, Ayiekoh’s new club Simba earned a place in the CAF Women Champions League finals that will take place in Morocco from October 30th to November 13th, 2022.

Simba is in Group A alongside Determine Girls, AS FAR FC, and Green Buffaloes from Liberia, Morocco, and Zambia respectively.
