Police Football Club has always had its ups and downs which also forces the team to grind out results on the pitch in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. But with the house in order getting results has always been easy for Abdullah Mubiru’s side.
One player in Juma Balinya has stood out for Police this season, scoring five goals in six games but also dictating play for the 2005 league winners. It’s that form and responsibility that have impressed Mubiru.
“Five goals in six games is a good return and he is more responsible and brave to take on everyone,” Mubiru told Kawowo Sports before adding. “Balinya is not just the best for us at the moment, probably one of the best in the Premier League.”
The former Vipers and Lweza FC player is not an ordinary player, he is a midfielder with a creative mind but also with a sharp eye for goal, Mubiru is well aware of his abilities.
“He’s our best player of recent and exemplified that again. He is intelligent and links our midfield to the attack and also scores goals which is very key,” he added.
Not the best from Police this season as they occupy seventh position on the 16 team log, they have only managed 4 wins in nine outings, two draws and a loss.
They do score the goals, 14 in total but ship in quite many too (13), probably defensively in an area Mubiru will need to pay some extra attention. Police play Vipers next on December 9th at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende
