Following their impressive performance in the first round, Express head coach Wasswa Bbosa has called upon his charges to keep their chase for the club’s first league title since 2012.
The Red Eagles will kick start their second-round campaign in an encounter that will see them face URA FC who sit joint top with Vipers in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Express FC are third are four points behind Sam Ssibmwa’s charges on 32 points at the halfway point of the season.
“We have to keep fighting for the top spot and that is by winning,” Bbosa said in his pre-match conference.
“Since we finished the first round with a win away from home. We are working hard to see that we get better in the second round and keep chasing for the ultimate prize of the league title,” he added.
“We have used the two weeks to correct our mistakes. We are going to play URA a team with one of the best technical teams and very talented players.”
“We have to do all it takes to see that we cover the points they have and that is by winning our games. The boys are in the best shape and have been prepared to fight for the win,” Bbosa said.
Before the league took its mid season break, Express managed to collect nine wins, five draws and one loss in 15 games netting 22 goals and conceding only seven.
The Red Eagles won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at the Arena of Vision in Ndejje. George Ssenkaba’s effort was the difference between the two sides.
The two sides have met 23 times. Among these the visitors have bagged 10 wins while Express have won only three times. They have played to 10 draws.
