Wasswa Bbosa has urged his Express FC side to sharpen up in front of goal ahead of their league tie against arch-rivals SC Villa on Saturday.
The Red Eagles host the Jogoo on Saturday in the Kampala Derby at the Betway Mutesa ll Stadium, Wankulukuku looking for their second win of the season.
Bbosa’s charges have been convincing in the first half of games but they have struggled at putting the chances away which has cost them a couple of games.
“Since returning from Mbarara, we’ve been working on our finishing because we have been missing a lot of scoring opportunities,” Bbosa told the club media before adding;
“Our players should be calm most especially the forwards while in the box so that we can be able to score more goals and win the game.” he added.
Express have also conceded in every game played so far this season and the former Villa head coach is also concerned by the issue and would like his side to sort it out.
“We have conceded in every game and we would really want our back line to stand solid so that we can avoid shipping in goals,” Bbosa noted.
The Betway sponsored side will welcome back captain Enock Walusimbi who was sent off against Onduparaka in their first game of the season.
However, they will continue missing the services of Mahad Yaya Kakooza who has not kicked the ball since joining in the transfer window with an injury.
Ibrahim Kayiwa and Charles Musiige are also out with injury. The Red Eagles face their rivals who they’ve not beaten in the last five outings with Villa winning both the ties last season.
Coach Edward Kaziba’s side won big when they defeated KCCA FC on Tuesday and they come into Saturday’s game extra motivated. Whereas the hosts drew away from home against Mbarara City on Wednesday.
Heading into the game, Express has gathered five points and sit seventh on the 16-team table while Villa are on seven points in 5th.
Striker Frank Kalanda has managed two league goals and will lead the line as Express search for their first goal against SC Villa since April, 2019.
Ronald Ssekiganda and Charles Ogwang are the players to watch out for in the Villa camp.
