BlacksPower FC vice captain Michael Siwu is close to signing for newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Arua Hill Sports Club.
According to close sources, the Arua based side has approached both the player and his FUFA Big League club in pursuit of his services.
The player’s ultimate goal is to play in the premier division, and Arua Hill expressing interest would make it more realistic. That makes the deal more probable.
“I want to at one time play for the national team, but I first have to prove my worth in the UPL,” Siwu has always repeatedly said about his plans.
The efficient attacking midfielder directly contributed twelve goals, scoring nine (including four from setpieces) and assisting thrice last season in the FUFA Big League.
He was the joint top scorer in the FBL Elgon Group, and among the top three scorers overall (including both Elgon and Rwenzori groups).
His impressive form guided BlacksPower to a third place finish in the FBL and eventual qualification for promotional playoffs.
The Bukedea based club rarely lets players go, but Siwu’s contract has expired, and it is more up to the player now to either leave or stay.
Siwu, ‘the dead ball specialist’ has since attracted the attention of several top tier and second division clubs.
But reliable sources confirm he will most likely join his former teammate Innocent Maduka who also opted for Arua Hill.
