Brian Umony signs for Express

Looks like Uganda Cranes striker, Brian Umony has finally overcome his injury problems and ready to play football again.

News reaching www.football-256.com is that, the 2008 footballer of the year has joined StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Express FC on an disclosed fee.

The Wankulukuku based club is looking at reviving their season, after a not so pleasing first round.

Umony suffered a career threatening injury while featuring for St George of Ethiopia three years ago.

His dedication and hard work throughout the rehabilitation process has seen him try to get short comeback stints at different clubs.

He trained with KCCA FC early last year but a move to the Kasasiro Boys failed to materialize but had a six months stint with Indian club Gokurlam Kerala

Umony was at a certain point one of the most lethal strikers in the CECAFA region, he joint top scored with Bruno Olobo on 15 goals as KCCA FC won the 2007/2008 league title.

That year he played a vital role as Uganda Cranes won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup at Namboole, his lone strike in the final against Kenya won his many friends.

He has previously played for Nakawa United, Naguru Avis, KCCA, Supersport United, University of Pretoria, Portland Timbers, Becamex Binh Duong, St George and Azam FC.

Express has been averaging a goal per game, Tony Odur was their top scorer in the fist round with four goals. 

The Kefa Kisala coached team have also added midfielder Frank Tumwesigye Zaga on loan from Vipers, Sadiq Sekyembe from Katwe United, Ivan Ucholit from Wembley FC and Goffin Geoffrey Oyirwoth from Buddo SS.
