BUL FC will have an opportunity to finish the first round of the Uganda Premier League joint second on the 15-team log when they host Maroons FC at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Wednesday.
In fourth position, the Oil Manufacturers are locked on 24 points, three points adrift of second-placed Vipers SC who are on 27 points and have played a game more.
“We lost our previous game against Vipers so we do not want to lose another game,” BUL head coach Alex Isabirye told the club media ahead of the game.
“We are at home and we are going to play against a tricky team in Maroons but we want to move from the fourth position where we are right now and we can only do that by winning the game tomorrow.”
“The only challenge is that defender Walter Ochora got injured against Vipers but we are happy that another defender in Ronald Otti is back from injury and will play a major role tomorrow,” he added.
The 2022 Uganda Cup champions are also a point below Wakiso Giants FC who are third with 25 points and five points adrift of leaders KCCA FC who have 29 points.
As BUL lost 2-1 to Vipers on Saturday, Maroons on the other hand drew 1-1 with Express FC on Friday.
In the previous eight meetings between the two teams, BUL are dominant six wins compared to Maroons’ two.
The Prison Warders won the last encounter with the Jinja-based side 2-0 in January 2020 before they were relegated.
