It is just a few days since KCCA FC forward Julius Poloto returned from a long-term injury, but he has already caused a buzz with his performance something that has left coach Morley Byekwaso a happy man.
Poloto’s strike against Nyamityobora in his side’s 4-2 win in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Wednesday, meant that he has scored two goals in two games.
He came off the bench in a league game against BUL FC last week on Friday scored and finished as the man of the match.
“I am extremely happy for him now that he is back and in fine shape,” KCCA head coach said of the player after the game against Nyamityobora.
“He has been one of our top players in the last three seasons but unfortunately he has struggled so much with injuries.”
“Let us pray he keeps fit and injury-free because whenever he shines, he will always put the team on top,” he added.
The midfielder had last featured during KCCA’s 4-0 win over Proline FC in December 2019 when came off the bench for his return from another long-term knee injury and scored the fourth goal.
For starters, his return was the highlight of that game and he received a standing ovation from the KCCA fans upon his introduction.
Ahead of kickoff to the current season, Poloto suffered a thigh muscle injury which has kept him sidelined for half a season before his return against BUL.
KCCA will be away to Nyamityobora on Saturday as they look forward to accomplishing the task and advance to the Round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
