Morley Byekwaso will take charge of his first game in charge of KCCA FC when BUL Bidco FC visit the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday.

The Jinja based side has recently proved to be a fierce opponent for the Kasasiro Boys, beating them in the last two meetings.

And on that note, Byekwaso does not expect KCCA’s Good Friday fixture versus BUL to be a walk in the park.

“We want to start the second round on a high and that means winning games,” Byekwaso said during his press conference on Thursday.

“Obviously, we shall try to take the game to our opponents but with caution because we know the kind of threat they possess,” he added.

Both sides come into matchday 16 with a similar run of form having won thrice, drawn and lost once in their last five games.

Arthur Kyesimira’s side are ninth on the 16-team log with 20 points from 15 outings. They picked up a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture in February at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

KCCA seat fifth on 27 points, nine points adrift of the log leaders URA FC who are on 36 points.

Asked whether KCCA still have a chance of winning the league title they last won in the 2018/2019 season, Byekwaso hopes; “This is what we want as the technical team.”

“We hope the players can comply because we are trying to raise their level of commitment to see that we dont drop points at least for now and that is how we shall come back into contention,” he noted.

KCCA are boosted by the return of assistant captain Julius Poloto who has been on the side-lines for a while due to injury. Filbert Obenchan, Moses Aliro, Denis Iguma, Stefano Mazengo are also available for selection.

John Revita, Brian Aheebwa, Gift Ali, Juma Balinya and Musa Ramathan still miss through injury.

Byekwaso will rely on forwards Charles Lwanga and Sadat Anaku for goals. The duo is in fine form, Lwanga is on seven goals while Anaku is on six.

Musa Esenu, Walter Ochora and Dennis Okot are former players at KCCA and could return to haunt their former employers. Joseph Ssemujju has managed five league goals and should be a player to watch out for the visitor.

Elsewhere, champions Vipers SC will visit army side UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Barracks Grounds. The first encounter which was played at Kitende in February ended 1-0 in favour of Vipers.

Mbarara City FC are away to Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium who defeated them 1-0 at Kakyeka Stadium in the first round.

Bottom side Kitara FC will host Soltilo Bright Stars at the Kavumba Recreation Centre a side that thumped them 5-0 in the reverse fixture.
