AS Kigali will play against a Ugandan side for the second year running in the CAF Confederations Cup qualifiers.
Kigali will meet KCCA who were given a bye from the preliminary round qualifiers.
Kigali will host the Kasasiro Boys in the first leg on the weekend of December 22/23rd in Rwanda with the return leg set for January 5th or 6th, 2020 in Kampala.
The Rwandan club eliminated Botswana side Orapa United – home to Ugandan duo Lawrence Ndugga and Ivan Mbowa in the preliminary qualifiers of the competition.
Kigali qualified for the first round on away goals rule after a 2-2 aggregate draw from both legs.
Orapa won 2-1 in the first leg in Botswana, but Kigali turned around the encounter winning 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Kigali.
Kigali were knocked out in the first-round qualifiers by Proline FC in the 2019/20 Confederations Cup.
Proline picked up a 1-1 draw in the first leg and then went on to pick up a 2-1 win at the same venue that will host next year’s second leg the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo to advance 3-2.
