Ivan Bogere scored a hat trick of goals as Proline FC started their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a blistering performance to demolish Malawian side Masters Security Services at Startimes stadium, Lugogo.
With lust to register an immediate impact on the continent, Proline FC began high on confidence as they pressed their day’s opponents for an early openers but all in vain.
With 25 minutes played on the clock, Proline’s dominance of the game eventually paid off when Ivan Bogere calmly scored past Chimwemwe Kunkwawa.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup champions would have been 2-0 up a few minutes later but Bright Anukani’s through ball to skipper Noordin Bunjo found him flat footed.
Despite Proline’s slim lead towards the half hour mark, the visitors nearly found an equalizer but Amadu Makawa was denied by the upright.
Towards the break Proline was allover their visitors, but goalscorer Ivan Bogere’s effort for a second was well readout by Kunkwawa.
The home team’s hunger for goals continued, a sweet pass from Hakim Kiwanuka found Bogere who beautifully doubled Proline’s lead in 58th minute.
Edging closer to the end of the game, Bogere perfectly registered his hat trick after he was picked up by Ibrahim Wammanah.
At 3-0, it’s definitely advantage Proline going into the return leg in Malawi with the winner playing either Tanzanian KMK or AS Kigali of Rwanda at the next stage.
