Following their impressive 3-0 victory over Olympic Real De Bangui in the first leg of the CAF Champions League Preliminary stage, Vipers SC head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho has showered his star performers in distinguished praise.
The Venoms out-muscled their hosts at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat on Saturday, with Isa Mubiru, Abdu Lumala and Najib Yiga on the score-sheet.
“Lumala is a special player,” Robertinho stated in his post-match reaction before adding.
“After a difficult start to the game, I introduced Lumala and we added more offensive threat, and he also scored a beautiful goal.”
“Najib Yiga gave our strikers valuable support and he as well scored the second goal. He has the Vipers mentality,” added the fully satisfied Brazilian.
The tactician also paid homage to the other new recruits for satisfying debut performances on the night.
“I’m happy for all our new players. They played really well, with Isa Mubiru scoring a good goal.”
The Venoms are slated to depart Congo Brazaville on Monday afternoon, to further train ahead of the second leg, bound for Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The victor on aggregate will take on TP Mazembe in the competition’s First round.
